Watershed Population & Population Change

Population densities in Grand Traverse Bay watershed are the greatest along the Bay’s shoreline as well as along the large lakes in the Chain of Lakes subbasin. By far, Traverse City and its surrounding townships are the most highly populated areas of the entire region. Population densities in this area can reach 1,730 people per square mile.
